GOLF COURSE MECHANIC

Kanata Golf and Country Club is Hiring!We are seeking a skilled and experienced Golf Course Mechanic to join our Turf Operation team at Kanata Golf and Country Club. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of our golf course equipment, ensuring a top-tier experience for our members and guests.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment, including but not limited to mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and diagnose mechanical issues promptly.
  • Execute engine repairs, and demonstrate proficiency in reel grinding.
  • Collaborate with the groundskeeping team to ensure equipment is in optimal condition for daily course maintenance.
  • Prioritize and manage tasks efficiently, demonstrating a sense of urgency to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and equipment, providing input for procurement while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Keep all tools and service equipment in safe and working order.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all types of golf maintenance equipment.
  • Establish neat and up to date record keeping on all repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Responsible for the grinding and sharpening of reels.
  • Diagnose and fix electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues both in the shop and on the golf course.
  • Keep an inventory of parts on hand, as well as ordering parts when necessary.
  • Keep up to date with safety standards and the proper use of equipment.
  • Ensure shop is clean and organized to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with Management Team to schedule repair and maintenance of equipment around daily operations.
  • Meet with local company representatives to learn about new and upcoming tools/parts/solutions/cleaners etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in engine repair, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and reel grinding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
