POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the General Superintendent plays a key role in site supervision, ensuring the quality of work and the safety of workers. Working closely with Site Superintendents and Foremen, he provides support and recommendations to optimize project performance. As Field Operations Manager, he ensures that project plans are properly executed, and that safety and quality standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, Coordination and Logistics
- Prepare and distribute weekly project plans to site superintendents and foremen
- Communicate initial equipment requirements to the Logistics Coordinator.
- Coordinate priorities for transporting equipment to the various worksites in collaboration with the Logistics Coordinator.
- Prepare and lead monthly meetings of site superintendents and foremen.
- Actively participate in the recruitment process for the operations team
- Visit job sites before work begins to ensure proper planning of activities.
- Determine priorities and coordinate the order of repairs with the chief mechanic.
- Regular site visits to validate project progress.
Human Resources and Communication
- Coordinate employee introduction, integration and training in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Monitor the implementation of new employee integration plans with Site Superintendents and Foremen.
- Make recommendations to the Director of Operations for the annual salary review.
- Participate in the performance appraisal process for Site Superintendents and Foremen.
- Provide feedback to Site Superintendents and Foremen upon completion of work.
- Manage conflicts in the workplace quickly and effectively and inform the director of human resources.
- Plan the training needs of site employees in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
Monitoring, Reporting and Quality
- Inform the Director of Operations on a daily basis of work progress, changes, deadlines, or problems encountered.
- Ensure that site superintendents and foremen know and apply administrative processes.
- Ensure compliance with corporate quality standards
Continuous Improvement
- Find solutions to problems linked to the lack of material and human resources.
- Identify, propose and implement processes to improve operations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- College diploma in construction management or related field. Specialized training in golf course management is an asset.
- Significant experience (5 to 10 years) in supervisory or management positions.
- Applied knowledge of software, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in reading plans and quotes.
- French: spoken and written; intermediate English.

Working Conditions:
- Approximately 80% of time spent in the field supervising worksites
- Around 20% of time spent on administrative tasks in the office.
