POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Superintendent, the Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the construction or renovation of a golf course. He/she ensures work quality, resource management, safety and compliance with client requirements and project deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Needs and Planning
- Work with foremen to understand specific site needs and anticipate required resources (labor, equipment, materials).
- Ensure proper management of priorities in line with project deadlines.
- Plan and organize human, material and logistical resources on site to ensure smooth progress.
- Ensure optimization of resources to avoid delays and additional costs.
- Act as the main point of contact on site for all stakeholders: internal teams, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders.
- Communicate regularly with the project manager, clients and subcontractors to ensure optimum coordination and quick resolution of problems.
- Participate in site meetings and monitor work progress.
Monitoring Costs and Deadlines
- Monitor site progress in terms of budget and on-time delivery.
- Regularly inform the General Superintendent and Project Manager of any deviations, delays or budget overruns.
Quality Management
- Supervise construction or renovation work, ensuring a high level of quality at every stage of the project.
- Carry out regular quality checks and provide feedback to foremen to ensure compliance with project standards and technical specifications.
Human Resources and Safety Management
- Ensure that all safety measures are followed by workers and subcontractors.
- Carry out regular site inspections to identify risks and take corrective action where necessary.
- Intervene promptly to resolve any conflicts or problems on site, whether with workers, subcontractors or other stakeholders.
- Follow up on incidents and inform the appropriate parties (General Superintendent, Human Resources, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Diploma of professional Education (DEP) in a field related to the position.
- Significant experience as a site superintendent, ideally in the construction industry or on large-scale landscaping projects.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
- Experience in reading plans and quotes;
- Experience in supervising and managing employees.
- Applied software knowledge, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- French: spoken and written; functional English.
