The Meadows Golf & Country Club, a 36-hole public facility located in the South-East end of Ottawa, is looking for an Assistant Superintendent.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting the superintendent in all aspects pertaining to the maintenance of the golf course
- Daily scheduling and supervision of staff
- Training staff on different types of equipment
- Applying and bookkeeping our fertilizer and pesticide program
- Managing our irrigation system (rainbird), repairing sprinklers, pipes, wiring, etc.
- Basic maintenance and upkeep of the equipment
- Help to set a positive and motivating work environment
- Implement and uphold Health and Safety procedures
- Be able to work discretionary hours, including weekends and holidays
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in golf turf maintenance in a leadership role (2+ years preferably)
- Graduate of a recognized turf grass management program
- Valid Ontario Landscape Exterminator License
- Valid Ontario Chainsaw license or willingness to obtain
- Valid Ontario Drivers License
- Knowledge in Mechanics *asset
- IPM agent status *asset
